Recently, I applied for the post of lecturer in one of the leading universities of the country but was informed by the university administration that my application could not be entertained and I could not the test because according to the university rules and criteria my credits hours are not complete.
I have graduated in philosophy from an institution in Lahore that is famous for providing 50 percent of bureaucracy to our country. They required 132 credit hours and my total credit hours were 124 which are also the criteria of the Higher Education Commission. When I talked to the administration of the university where I applied for the post about my issue and tried to convince them, I was shocked to hear from the administration who said that the university has its own autonomous body and is not bound to obey the HEC rules and regulation. The HEC should take action on this issue so that in future no one has to face such problems.
