Prominent political figure, social activist and Pakistan’s first female federal minister Begum Saifullah Khan passed away on January 26. She was a social worker and philanthropist of national repute.
Begum Saifullah was the real motivator and unifying force behind her five sons called the Saifullah Brothers who also emulated their mother in carrying out social work. She reared her children as well as looked after the family business after her husband died. She may rightly be called ‘Maadr-e-Marwat’ for her services to the people of the Lakki Marwat district which will be remembered for a long time to come. May her soul rest in peace.
