LAHORE: Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has registered a case against Munir Dairy unit on charges of forgery, fraud and adulteration in foods in an operation in Kahna Nau area here on Monday.
PFA enforcement teams have confiscated 1,250-kg substandard ghee, 1,000-kg fake butter, 20 non-food grade drums and machinery, officials said. The raid was conducted on a tip-off from PFA’s vigilance cell. The authority caught the unit producing fake butter by adding harmful chemicals and Banaspati ghee in it. The team also found unavailability of expired date and label on the packaging.
