According to an official of the Central Fire Station, the cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained. At least 12 fire engines and three water bowsers of the KMC were despatched to the location; the fire tenders were trying to overcome the fire till the filing of the story.
At least 12 shops and three warehouses were reported to have been burnt after a major fire broke out at a warehouse used to store timber near New Sabzi Mandi on January 25.
According to the central fire station, the fire broke out at around 2:25am due to an electric short circuit.
