Two passers-by women injured in Excise police firing

NOWSHERA: Two passer-by women sustained bullet injuries as the officials of the Excise police reportedly opened fire on a suspected vehicle in Rashakai area, police officials said.

An injured woman told the police that she along with her mother-in-law was crossing the road in Rashakai bazaar. She said that suddenly the official of the Excise Department police came there and signaled a suspected car to stop, adding, instead of stopping the driver sped away.

The woman said the Excise police opened fire on the suspected car, adding she and her mother-in-law sustained bullet injuries in the firing incident. She said the cops of the Excise Department fled the science after the incident. The police of the Risalpur Police Station filed a case against Inspector Alif Shah and others cops of the Excise Department and started investigation.

Meanwhile, when contacted to comments on the incident, Alif Shah expressed ignorance about the incident. However, the officials at the Excise Department confirmed that the excise police were present at Rashakai.
