ISLAMABAD: All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said Kashmir is purely a political dispute and has no links with any global organization.

According to Kashmir Media Service, he said this while talking to the Shahi Imam of Jamia Masjid Delhi Ahmad Bukhari and the president of Jamiat-i-Ulema-i-Hind Mahmood Ahmad Madni besides many other Islamic scholars in New Delhi, reported Kashmir Media Service.

“I told them that Kashmir dispute is purely political in nature and the people of Kashmir crave for an amicable solution of the dispute since decades Miwaiz Umar Farooq said in a media interview over phone from New Delhi.” He said Kashmir struggle was based on genuine principles and had nothing to do with global terrorist organizations. He pointed out those linking Kashmir dispute with the outside forces were hell bent on maligning the image of Kashmiris who had offered priceless sacrifices over the past many decades.

Mirwaiz said he sought support from the Indian religious scholars for an honourable solution to the Kashmir dispute. I expressed concern over the harassment of crores of Muslims living in India and said entire Kashmir was worried about treatment meted out to them.

Indian Muslims are caught in problems both at the individual and the collective level he deplored.I asked the Islamic scholars to raise their voice on their issues so that Muslims living across India don t feel isolated and humiliated further. Mirwaiz arrived in Kashmir late in the afternoon after his brief stay in New Delhi.
