Our flawed policies – both at the local and national levels – have caused tremendous loss to the environment in the country. The relevant provincial Environmental Protection Agencies (EPAs) seem to have become dysfunctional because the officers manning these organisations are neither environment-friendly nor have the curiosity to learn and improve.
After the 18th Amendment, the relevant federal ministry also appears to have changed its strategy and loosen its grip on environment management. This does not augur well for our future generations. Let us actively involve naturalists and local communities in protecting the country’s valuable natural resources.
