Zarb-e-Azb to continue till elimination of last terrorist: Mamnoon
ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain said Operation Zarb-e-Azb has achieved significant successes and emphasised that the government was determined to continue it till complete elimination of the last terrorist.
The president was talking to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan, who called on him Wednesday at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.He underlined the need to introduce constructive reforms in Fata to address the issues of the people of region, adding that the government was sincerely taking measures in this regard by taking all the stakeholders on board.
He said the government was committed to bringing the region on a par with other areas of the country by completing ongoing development projects and providing socio-economic amenities to improve the standard of life of the people of the area.
Underscoring the dignified return of TDPs to their native areas, the president said timely repatriation and rehabilitation of TDPs was top priority of the government.The damaged infrastructure would be rebuilt and economic incentives would be provided for bringing the life back to normal in the region, he added.
The president appreciated the improved security situation in Fata and KP and commended Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan for taking steps for the welfare of the people.According to another report, the president said the government was committed to building capacity of youth through various skill development programmes.
He said it will enable them to get different vocational and technical jobs thereby reducing unemployment in the country.The National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) was rendering commendable services by imparting technical skills to the youth to raise their social and economic profile and enable them to play their role in the national development, he added.
The president expressed these views while talking to executive director NAVTTC Zulfiqar Cheema, who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.The president asked the ED NAVTTC to establish linkages among various stakeholders at the national as well as international levels to make the technical programmes more effective.
