NAWABSHAH: More than 200 retired headmasters of Nawabshah, Sanghar and Naushehro Districts have not received pensions despite a lapse of seven months. These retired headmasters said that they dedicated their lives to imparting education to children for decades but at the end theywere leftwith no other choice but to raise their voice through the press. Malik Taj Muhammad, Sachay Dino, Muhammad Ilyas Rind and Rawatiani Kishan of the Retired Teachers’ Action Committee told a press conference that more than 200 retired headmasters of high schools and junior teachers belonging to Naushehro Feroze, Sanghar and Benazirabad Districts have retired and more are retiring but they have not been issued retirement orders. The retired teachers said that Additional Director Syed Mehfooz Ali Shah, who is in Grade 20, does not enjoy financial powers and cannot issue retirement orders. Retired teachers said that a teacher automatically retires when they attain the age of 60, but for further processing of the pension issue the retirement order is necessary, which is not being issued.
