ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police are investigating the sudden disappearance of Major (retd) Khurram Hameed Kiani on Wednesday and some officials believe that the retired army officer has been picked up by law enforcement agencies.
The family of Khurram is not clear about the cause of his disappearance. Major (retd) Ihsan, who is a cousin of Khurram, told The News nobody had contacted them after the disappearance.
Police sources say that Khurram, a resident of Sector F-8 of Islamabad, went to Khayaban-e-Kashmir, a housing society where he was employed, changed his car there, took two employees of the society along with him and travelled towards Kalar Kahar.
According to the statement of employees, they dropped Khurram there and returned. Later, Khurram's contact with the family was lost and he disappeared. Major (retd) Ihsan told The News that Khurram has no enmity with anyone and he has no link with any banned organisation.
He said that his family has so far not decided to move the court and has initially registered a ‘report’ with the Margalla Police Station, F-8, Islamabad. He said so far the family was ascertaining the facts and he will not say anything before having any solid information. The Margalla Police Station confirmed receiving the application of disappearance of Khurram.
