NUST to hold Model United Nations
Islamabad: The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) will hold its fourth Model United Nations -- NUST International Model United Nations (NIMUN) 2016 -- on its H-12 campus from January 19 to January 22.
According to organisers, Model United Nations also called Mock UN is an academic simulation of the United Nations where students pretend to be delegates from different countries and strive to suggest solutions to real world issues such as nuclear non-proliferation or climate change keeping in perspective the foreign policies of their assigned countries.
Since long, bright students all over Pakistan convene for Model United Nations practiced in the top educational institutions of Pakistan, including NUST, LUMS, GIKI etc. to work on researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
The NIMUN’16 happens to be the fifth installment of one of the major MUNs conferences held in the country.
Themed ‘unity beyond borders’, the event is about looking forward to unifying the voices of people from across the globe, and to put together a worthwhile debating session in the hope of it being conducive for achieving a better tomorrow.
