New companies law to be enforced soon: Dar
Pays rich tributes to services of SECP Chairman Zafar Hijazi
ISLAMABAD: Paying rich tributes to Chairman SECP Zafar Hijazi, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said that new companies law would be implemented in Pakistan within a few weeks while final shape was expeditiously being given to mutualisation bill.
He said that new corporate restructuring law will be enforced by June 30, 2016. While talking to The News, Ishaq Dar said that they had opened stock market in 1991 and on January 1, 1999 they had merged Corporate Law Authority (CLA), which was the part of finance ministry, into the self-independent institution Security Exchange Commission.
He said when the Nawaz government took charge in 2013 they had met several personalities for the chairmanship of SECP, conducted interviews and after that they had selected experienced, honest and capable person in shape of Zafar Hijazi who was well acquainted with rules and regulations and he delivered well.
