Meesha case adjourned
LAHORE: An additional district and sessions court on Monday adjourned the hearing of a defamation suit against singer Meesha Shafi by singer Ali Zafar.
The court adjourned after cross-examination of a witness of Meesha Shafi namely Hamna Zubair. Previously, the court had recorded the statement of Hamna Zubair and had summoned her again for cross examination of her statement.
Moreover, the court had dismissed a plea of Meesha seeking a stay on defamation proceedings against her after Ali had submitted before the court that Meesha was trying to delay the court proceedings.
It is pertinent to mention here that Meesha is also facing a case in the FIA Cyber Crime wing. In September, the FIA Cyber Crime Wing had registered a case against singer Meesha Shafi, actress Iffat Umar and seven others for their alleged involvement in a vilification campaign against singer Ali Zafar.
