Geo-economics

This refers to the article, ‘Geo-politics to geo-economics’ (December 31) by Alamzeb Khan. The writer has rightly pointed to the shifting trend in international diplomacy – from geo-politics to geo-economics, especially in South Asia. Afghanistan, India and Pakistan are mainly involved in the war on terror. Now they are striving for peace and prosperity in the region and willing to promote geo-economics. In this connection the thin line of the economy that is the Tapi gas pipeline should be nourished properly till it produces fruit.

Moreover, the CPEC affords us an opportunity to expand our economy by not only reaping its benefits ourselves but by also involving other Central Asian states like Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. The more states are involved in the CPEC the more prosperity and success we meet.
