NOWSHERA: A resident of Nowshera on Sunday accused the Risalpur police of siding with his influential rivals and applying delaying tactics to arrest them.

Speaking at a press conference, Subhanullah, a resident of Kalanjar Maira in Nowshera district, said that he had a monetary dispute with one Amin Gul, who did not want to settle the issue through a jirga.

He alleged that his influential opponents had political backing and the police were reluctant to arrest them despite the fact that a case had been registered against them.

The resident said that the police were hurling threats at him instead of arresting his rivals. Subhanullah alleged that accused Amin Gul along with his cousin Rahim and others dragged his brother Farmanullah out of his van (B-3204/Mardan) when he was going somewhere for important work.

He alleged that the accused severely tortured his brother and snatched the vehicle from him.

“The accused earlier destroyed my honey bee boxes and inflicted heavy losses on me,” the complainant said, adding that now they tortured his brother and snatched the van from him but the police did not arrest them.

He appealed to Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and Inspector General of Police Moazzam Jah Ansari to provide protection to his family members and help recover the snatched vehicle from the influential opponents.
