Journalist Asad Kharal remanded into police custody till July 25
LAHORE: A journalist Asad Kharal who held the ASP Kahna and a head constable hostage and resorted to firing at them four days ago was remanded into police custody till July 25.
The accused reportedly thrashed police guard Idrees deployed at his house, snatched the rifle and tore up his uniform. On learning of the incident, ASP Kahna Shoaib reached the spot who was invited into the house by Kharal to resolve the issue. When the ASP along with Constable Ishfaq Ahmed entered Kharal's house, he held them hostage and locked them inside. However, the captives managed to escape and save their lives.
Police produced Asad Kharal in the magistrate's court and demanded 14-day physical remand. The magistrate remanded the accused into police custody for four days and directed him to be produced again on July 25.
