Nazim says master plan afoot for uplift of Peshawar
PESHAWAR: District Nazim Muhammad Asim Khan has said the provincial government is working on master plan for uplift and beautification of the provincial capital.
Talking to media persons during visit to Peshawar Press Club (PPC) on Tuesday, the district nazim said the Peshawar uplift programme is gaining progress. He reiterated the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led provincial government’s commitment to revive the Peshawar as ‘flowers of city’.
The district nazim said the development work is going on in full swing in Peshawar. “The change has to began everywhere in the province,” Asim said. He vowed to ensure merit in development schemes and replace the rusted water supply pipes, provide clean drinking water and ensure cleanliness in the city.
When asked about accumulation of rains water on the streets, Asim said the local government is focusing on construction of drains alongside the roads to resolve the issue. About re-emergence of encroachments in city, he said it was now responsibility of town and district council to take action against encroachers and remove illegal structures in Peshawar.
He said PTI-led provincial government’s priority was to ensure supply of clean drinking water, cleanliness. He said the government was also making efforts for provision of best healthcare and education facilities in the province.
The district nazim said that government had allocated Rs.810million funds each for district and town councils, while nominal amount was also provided to village council as well. Earlier, he greeted the newly elected body of Peshawar Press Club.
