Three drown in separate incidents
A man drowned off the Sandspit beach on Friday – the third person to have died in drowning incidents since Wednesday.
Rescuers transported the body to the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for an autopsy where he was identified as 25-year-old Hamza, son of Saleem. Police said the boy had arrived at the beach to picnic.
Separately, a man drowned while bathing at the Hub Dam within the limits of the Manghopir police remits. The body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he was identified as Ali, 28, son of Hashim.
In another similar incident, 30-year-old Abdullah, son of Gul Bakht, drowned while bathing in a lake in Thatta. The body was taken to the CHK for an autopsy.
Man commits ‘suicide’
A man allegedly committed suicide at his house in Manzur Colony’s G Area on Friday. Rescuers took the body to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for an autopsy where the man was identified as 20-year-old Sundesh, son of Peero. According to police, the man ended his life by hanging himself from a ceiling fan; however, the motive behind the incident was yet to be ascertained.
