Heavy rain in Jhang

JHANG: Several residential areas inundated due to heavy rain in the city. The rainwater entered into the houses of low-lying areas and exposed tall claims of the Municipal Corporation officials. Meanwhile, the residents of Sargodha Road and adjacent localities staged a demonstration against the MC officials at Ayub Chowk. The aggrieved citizens appealed to the authorities to take notice of poor administrative control and inefficiency of the MC officials. When contacted, MC Administrator/DC Fayyaz Ahmed claimed that the permanent solution to sewerage lines choking issue requires upgradation of sewerage system of the city by keeping the surface levels of different areas of the city under observation.
