Cop killed on resistance

SUKKUR: A policeman was killed in an alleged attack by the villagers and supporters of criminals during a police operation in Jacobabad. When the police party reached village Jan Muhammed Serki to arrest two alleged criminals Ali Gohar and Mir Muhammad Sahandro, nominated in various cases, the villagers and their supporters offered resistance. The police claimed that the criminals managed to escape from the spot during the mob’s resistance. Meanwhile, a policeman identified as Perveez Banglani was critically injured, when the villagers attacked the police with bricks and sticks. The injured cop succumbed to his injuries and died on the way to a local hospital.
