Shehbaz slams govt over gas, power loadshedding
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) President and Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has expressed grave concern over the suspension of gas supply to major industries and CNG sector in the country.
He, in a statement issued here on Sunday, said that the tragic series of endless loadshedding of electricity and gas has been going on since last month of June. “Despite the availability of surplus power in the country, the worst loadshedding is going on,” he claimed, adding circumstances disproved PTI's claim that PMLN generated more power and time proved that PMLN increased power generation capacity by keeping in view the country's future needs.
Shahbaz said that behind the loadshedding of gas and electricity was the desire of PTI to make money and the worst incompetence. The main reason for loadshedding of gas and electricity was the prime minister and his cabinet, he said, adding the complete closure of the LNG terminal was another bad news for the nation.
Earlier, the PTI had laid the wreckage of the gas crisis on the two-day closure of the LNG terminal, he concluded.
