PPP govt carrying out development works in Karachi on preferential basis, says Wahab
Adviser to the Sindh Chief Minister on Law and Environment Barrister Murtaza Wahab has said the Sindh government of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has been completing development works in Karachi on a preferential basis but the present federal government had completely ignored the provincial capital.
Barrister Wahab, who is being tipped as the new administrator of Karachi, stated this on Sunday as he toured different parts of District South to inspect development works and review the situation of sanitation.
He said the PPP’s provincial government had been completing development works in the entire province, which included construction of roads, restoration of public parks, and upgrade of drainage and sewerage systems.
He explained that work was under way to reconstruct the drainage system in the low-lying areas of Karachi. He added that the provincial government had been making efforts to complete such uplift work in the shortest possible time keeping in view the comfort of the general public.
“We don’t believe in merely issuing statements as we do believe in doing practical work as the progress achieved in this regard could be seen on ground. On the other hand, the ineligible government in the Centre has been doing nothing except making announcements for the city containing unfulfilled promises,” he remarked.
He was of the view that the present federal government of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had done nothing for Karachi except making promises to its people that never materialised.
He claimed that the people of the city had finally come to see the real face of the PTI and they would not be deceived by it next time.
