Solved papers of Inter Islamic Studies set on fire

LAHORE : In an unfortunate incident some unidentified miscreants set ablaze answer sheets of Intermediate Part-II Annual Examination 2021 when a superintendent of an examination centre in Kahna Nau area of the provincial metropolis was going to submit the same in a local bank.

The papers of Islamic Studies (Elective) and Principal Accounting were held under the Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore in the first group (morning session) after which the superintendent of the Kahna Examination Centre 8 (set up in a private college) was on his way to a local bank to submit these solved papers when some miscreants intercepted him and set his motorbike on fire and the answer sheets also caught the fire. They were able to flee the scene.

A BISE spokesperson said that the answer sheets were not fully damaged and marking could be done. He added local police was called to register an FIR and nab the culprits at the earliest. He said 50 candidates had registered for the said papers and only two were absent.

Meanwhile, Punjab Minister for Higher Education Raja Yassir Humayun has also taken notice of the incident and directed the BISE authorities to submit a report and directed the local police to take stern action against the miscreants.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Intermediate Part-II Annual Examination 2021 commenced under the BISE Lahore on July 10 and would continue until July 27. Meanwhile, Secondary School Certificate (Matric) Part-II Annual Examination 2021 under the BISE Lahore would commence from July 29 and would continue until August 9.
