‘Moderate rain spell inundated Karachi due to Sindh govt’s incompetence’

Pak Sarzameen Party Chairman Syed Mustafa Kamal said on Saturday that the incompetent Sindh government neither cleared the drains nor made any arrangement for the drainage system in the city.

“Clearing incompetence is more crucial than clearing drains. The prejudice of the incompetent and corrupt rulers has turned rain into torment for the residents of Karachi,” said Kamal while speaking to the incharges of the city’s districts.

Kamal said that drains overflew and rainwater entered many houses.

“Every year people are dying due to electrocution in rains but the rulers turn a blind eye and a deaf ear over this grim situation because they take Karachiites as forced labourers.”

For the tyrants, incompetents, corrupt and bigoted rulers, the dying people of Karachi are just a number, he added.

He said the political parties present in the parliament by taking mandate from Karachi had stabbed Karachi in the back.

“When I invested Rs300 billion on the city during my tenure as the Mayor of Karachi, the city was ranked among the twelve fastest growing cities in the world,” he claimed.

“The world recognised our performance, but today, with thousands of billions of rupees, Karachi is among one of the worst livable cities in the world.”

The recent rains had exposed the performance of the federal and provincial governments. “Due to the incompetence of the Sindh government, moderate rain spells have inundated Karachi,” he said.

The provincial government and the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board seem to had failed miserably in providing facilities to the people, the PSP chief said.
