PPP workers protest Gandapur’s diatribe

By PESHAWAR: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Friday staged a protest to condemn Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Ali Amin Gandapur’s diatribe against Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
In the provincial capital, the PPP workers, carrying banners and chanting slogans, gathered outside the Peshawar Press Club.
Speaking on the occasion, Zulfiqar Afghani and others asked the minister to tender an apology. “Bhutto was a great leader and we can’t tolerate such remarks against our leaders,” he added.
PPP provincial president Humayun Khan announced the decision to stage a protest at a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Thursday.
KHAR: Carrying banners and chanting slogans, the PPP workers asked party leadership to raise this issue in the Parliament and make the minister in question step down and tender apology.
Addressing the protesters, PPP local leader Aurangzeb Inqilabi said that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto worked selflessly for the progress of the country.
Khan Bahadur, Mohammad Saeed and others also spoke at the protest.
Aurangzeb said it was the PPP’s founding chairman, who gave the 1973 constitution to the country and initiated the nuclear programme for the defense of the motherland.
CHILTAL: The workers of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Friday staged a protest against the federal minister Ali Amin Gandapur for his derogatory remarks about the party founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
The protesters led by PPP leaders including provincial deputy general secretary Salim Khan, Fazal Rabbi Jan, Muhammad Hakim, Qazi Faisal, Alamzeb, Sharif Hussain and others staged the protest outside the Chitral Press Club.
The protesters put the effigy of Ali Amin on fire and chanted slogans against the PTI leader. Speaking on the occasion Salim Khan said that Ali Amin Gandapur should not have used foul language against the PPP founder.
He said that Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was one of the brave leader of the Muslim World, adding that Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was the father of the Pakistan’s nuclear program. He also expressed concern over the Election Commission of Pakistan silence on his remarks that had provoked the sentiments of the PPP workers.
He said that it appeared that the ground was being made for selection in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He demanded a public apology from the PTI leadership and asked Imran Khan to rein in such elements or else it would create problems for his party.
