Forced leave of Gomal University VC extended
PESHAWAR: The forced leave of Gomal University, Dera Ismail Khan, Dr Iftikhar Ahmad has been extended for another 90 days.
A formal notification to this effect was issued here on Friday. The notification stated: “The Governor is pleased to extend the forced leave of the Dr Iftikhar Ahmad, VC, Gomal University for further 90-day wef July 21, 2021.”
The vice-chancellor had been sent on forced leave on April 22 on account of violating the laid down procedures for writing a letter directly to the prime minister and defying the decisions of the provincial cabinet regarding establishment/ upgradation of agriculture university Dera Ismail Khan.
Two other vice-chancellor, Swat University’s Jamal Khan and Women University Swabi’s Dr Shahana Urooj had already been sent on forced leave but their action was undone by the high court.
