PPP demands joint parliament session on Afghan situation
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) demanded for convening the joint sitting of both the houses of Parliament to discuss the prevailing situation in Afghanistan, its impact on Pakistan and to formulate the policy to meet the challenges on Pakistan due to situation in Afghanistan.
“The situation in Afghanistan needs serious discussion and to formulate national strategy and if the reports circulating on the social media are true then the things get more completed,” said Secretary General PPP Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari while demanding the joint session of the Parliament on Afghan situation.
Nayyar Hussain Bukhari said the government should convene the joint sitting of the Parliament to tell the nation about the facts and the latest situation regarding the Taliban. He said that the videos and news of Taliban on social media are very scary. News is circulating that various embassies have been vacated and Ashraf Ghani's own family has also moved there.
He said all the stakeholders have to play their role in the changing scenario of the region as no peace in the region could be achieved without peace in Afghanistan.
He said the prevailing situation calls the need of national unity to meet the challenges confronting to the country as peace in Pakistan links with peace in Afghanistan.
