Iranian envoy meets minister Hammad
Islamabad: Iranian Ambassador Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini called on energy minister Muhammad Hammad Azhar here on Monday.
The two discussed ways and means to increase cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector.
The minister underscored the importance of Iranian electricity's import to Balochistan's districts bordering the country, especially Gwadar, and said it was playing a pivotal role in the supply of electricity to the region.
He also expressed the commitment to work for further enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector in line with the memorandum of understanding signed during the recent visit of Pakistani prime minister to Iran.
The Iranian ambassador said his country was ready to supply more electricity to Pakistan and necessary infrastructure had already been built by the country.
