Security guard kills internet provider, injures another
A young internet provider was gunned down and another was critically wounded after a security guard of a filling station in Sharafi Goth opened fire on them following an exchange of heated words on Saturday.
A Sharafi Goth police official said the incident took place at a CNG station in the Singer Chowrangi area, adding that the casualties were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. He said the deceased was identified as Asad Mehmood, 21, and the injured as Farhan Gulzar Ahmed, 38.
Police said the two internet providers were frequent visitors to the filling station, adding that they had asked the station’s security guard for a ladder, but an argument resulted in the guard shooting at them with his 12-bore repeater.
The official said that both the deceased and the injured were residents of Korangi, adding that the police had arrested the security guard, Ghulam Hussain, and registered a case.
