Partly cloudy weather with hot and humid conditions was observed in the City here on Sunday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions with chances of rain during the next 24 hours.
Met officials said that monsoon currents were penetrating upper and central parts of the country and likely to continue till tomorrow (Tuesday). They added that a shallow westerly wave was affecting upper parts of the country.
They predicted that hot and dry weather was likely to prevail over most parts of the country. However, wind-thunderstorm was expected at isolated places in upper Punjab, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Rainfall was recorded at Kohlu 30, Barkhan, Ziarat 07, Loralai 06, DG Khan (Fort Munro 10, City 08), Bunji, Hunza, Bagrote 03, Astore 01 and Balakot 01. Sunday’s maximum temperature was recorded at Sibbi and Dadu where mercury reached 47°C while in Lahore, it was 40.5°C and minimum was 26.3°C.
