Mufti Aziz denies sexually assaulting student
LAHORE: Former JUI-F leader and cleric Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman Monday denied sexually assaulting one of his students alleging that police is pressurising him to make a confessional statement. Earlier, police had claimed that Mufti Aziz had confessed to his crime of sexually abusing his student. The police produced Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman before the area magistrate Shahid Khokhar. The police produced Mufti to record his confessional statement under 164 CrPC.
However, Aziz told the court that the seminary had conspired against him and the police were pressurising him for a confession. He denied sexually assaulting one of his students. Before that the police had produced Mufti before the magisterial court of Rana Rashid, who had sent him on judicial remand of 14 days, directing police to submit challan against him on the next hearing.
