An 8-year-old-boy, Mohammad Zia Ali, who is undergoing treatment at the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC), needs immediate assistance from philanthropists for open heart surgery.

For the full treatment of the child, the AFIC has estimated a cost of Rs428,000 that his father, Madah Hussain, who is a welder by profession, cannot afford. The family needs immediate assistance.

Mohammad Zia Ali has a hole in his heart and blockade of arteries since birth. Some two-and-a-half years ago, he underwent treatment at the AFIC. Later, doctors suggested to his parents for an angiography that they afforded somehow. But now as the doctors suggested an open heart surgery, the cost is beyond the family’s resources.

Talking to this correspondent, Madah Hussain said that the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology at Rawal Road only accepts patients more than the age of 10 years and their child is under 10.

The child is in quite serious condition and needs emergency treatment. He is admitted at the AFIC children's ward 11, bed number 12. His parents have appealed to the philanthropist to come forward and help them save the life of their son. The boy's father could be contacted on his mobile phone numbers 0345-5126489, 0314-5113132.
