LAHORE: Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) has proposed the concept of ‘energy democracy’ in the country, which can be implemented by creating private-public partnership consortiums to overcome the exceeding energy crisis in Pakistan.
Addressing a PCJCCI Think Tank meeting on Friday, PCJCCI President SM Naveed urged the government to ensure efficiency, investment, and reduced tariffs to resolve energy crisis by introducing energy democracy in Pakistan.
Senior Vice President Daud Ahmad said that the world had built 45,000 large dams so far, while Pakistan had built only two large dams with seven percent of the world’s irrigated area, which showed criminal neglect in safeguarding the life-giving waters.
