Expensive utilities
June 23, 2021
This refers to the letter ‘Unaffordable power’ (June 22) by Hashim Abro. Inflated power and gas bills create many financial challenges for the middle-class as more than 40 percent of their monthly income is usually spent on paying utility bills. Low-income households are unable to afford water coolers to beat this sweltering heat, let alone an air conditioner. In winter, exorbitant gas bills are another big test.
The PM needs to address these real issues of people if he wants to honour his pre-election promises.
