Newlywed woman commits suicide in Mansehra

MANSEHRA: A newlywed woman committed suicide by jumping into the Kunhar River while four other people were killed and many others sustained injuries in the different incidents in the upper parts of Hazara on Sunday.

The woman (K) jumped into Kunhar River at Rajowal area in Kaghan valley.

The Rescue 1122 officials rushed to the spot and started searching for her body.

Amir, a spokesman of the Rescue 1122, told reporters that flooding in the river was hampering the search operation.

One Munawwar Shah told reporters that his son-in-law used to quarrel with his daughter since her marriage with him early this month. He said that she jumped into Kunhar River to end her life.

In another incident, a pickup vehicle carrying devotees to Sain Sahali Sarkar shrine in Muzaffarabad from Taxila felled into a ravine near the Laburkot area.

The Rescue 1122 officials shifted the injured to the King Abdullah Teaching Hospital where doctors pronounced Mohammad Nadeem dead.

The injured Mohammad Tahir, Asad Iqbal, Waqas Shah, Malik Akhtar and Ali Raza were referred to the Ayub Medical Complex in Abbottabad.
