Man held in rape-cum-murder case
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The police here on Sunday arrested a man on the charges of raping and murdering a woman in the limits of Paharpur Police Station.
The sources said that the police launched investigations when the body of the woman was found dumped in a deserted place. It was learnt that she was going to get married in a couple of days when she was raped and subsequently killed.
During the investigation, the police got some clues, which led to the arrest of the accused identified as Mohammad Ramazan.
He told investigators that the victim woman (H) was the sister-in-law of his accomplice Misri Khan, who was on the run. He said that Misri Khan lured her to a deserted place, where they murdered the woman after raping her. The police registered the case under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Meanwhile, the Rescue 1122 officials pulled out the bodies of two young men, who had drowned in the Indus River at Mandrati area four days ago. The bodies of the two men were handed over to their families for burial. Also, a man was killed in festive firing at a wedding ceremony in the limits of Park Police Station in Dera Ismail Khan. The deceased was identified as Waqar son of Ahmad Gul.
