This refers to the news report ‘Car sales climb 57 pc to 139,613 units’ (June 16). It is important to pay attention to the impact of car pollution on the environment. Every car purchase contributes towards pollution, leading to the poor air quality. While the government is addressing this issue through a number of actions – the most notable being the Billion Tree Tsunami project – it seems that we still need to do a lot more to address the root cause of the problem.
For the sake of our future generation, we should commit to reduce our carbon footprint – at both the individual and state levels.
