LAHORE:Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said the nation’s precious time was wasted by repeating long stories in the parliament by the opposition leaders.

In a statement issued here on Friday, he said useless and directionless speeches could not serve the masses. The so-called leader wasted time in repeating the same sermons and disappointments were evident on their faces as a balanced and public-friendly budget was presented by the PTI government, he added. One has to stand with the people to serve them instead of giving long lectures, he said and regretted that those suffering from the paranoia of self-praise and projection could do nothing except making incoherent speeches.

The PTI government was selflessly serving masses and its leadership was firmly standing with the general public as public service was the focal point of PTI’s politics, he reiterated.

The chief minister said the government was moving the agenda of public service forward while the opposition leaders were engaged in negative politics. The PDM alliance had ended in fiasco and the opposition continued to change its stance on different issues daily, the CM concluded.

Meanwhile, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has felicitated Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on presenting people-friendly budget with special emphasis on development in the South Punjab.

During a meeting with Chief Minister Usman Buzdar at the Governor’s House here on Friday, he expressed the hope that the government would succeed in getting the federal and provincial budgets passed, adding that these budgets would usher in a new era of development and prosperity in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The chief minister called on Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar and discussed political and administrative matters besides administrative COVID-19 pandemic situation in the province. Sarwar said the Punjab government had provided relief to the general public, including labourers and salaried class by presenting a people-friendly budget. He further said development package for each district was a great initiative of the government, adding that serving the people was the government’s top priority.

He said the opposition must give priority to national interest over political benefits, adding that the opposition leadership had indulged in war of words for political mileage. The governor said Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority would launch clean-drinking water projects in constituencies of Provincial and National Assembly without discrimination. Both the leaders were unanimous in their resolve that electronic voting was the only viable solution to ensure fair and transparent elections in the country in future, adding that opposition’s refusal to accept the change was disappointing.

The chief minister assured of extending full cooperation for providing clean drinking water to the people and hailed the steps taken by the governor for the Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority. Usman Buzdar said the conspiracies of the opposition to malign the government had died a natural death, adding that the masses were standing by the PTI government today. “We have always confronted the negative politics of the opposition with public service and no obstacle to provision of relief to the general public would be tolerated”, Buzdar said, adding that the Punjab government had presented a historic annual development programme. He said Punjab had entered a new era of development through allocation of equal funds for each region.

TAKES NOTICE OF GIRL’S MURDER

The chief minister while taking notice of kidnap-cum-murder of a girl child in the Barha Ghar police station precincts in Nankana Sahib, sought a report from the regional police officer Sheikhupura.

He ordered for the arrest of the accused at the earliest and taking legal action against them. The CM also extended sympathies to the bereaved family and assured them of provision of justice. -
