LAHORE: A meeting chaired by Provincial Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has decided to strictly implement the corona standard operating procedures (SOPs) across the province.
The meeting was attended by the Punjab chief secretary, primary healthcare secretary, director general public relations and other senior civil and military officials while the divisional commissioners participated in it through video link.
Punjab Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid said non-implementation of corona SOPs could prove to be extremely dangerous, adding that prevention from the virus was possible only with precautions. She said that the pandemic subsided due to precautionary measures and vaccination but any complacency could lead to an increase the cases. She said the people should support the government's efforts to eradicate the coronavirus, urging them to adopt precautions, including wearing masks and maintaining social distance.
The chief secretary directed the officers concerned that corona tests of the people coming from abroad must be conducted at the airports and in case of positive test the patient must be kept in quarantine for the specified period.
He also directed the divisional commissioners to strictly implement the SOPs. Secretary Primary Health Sara Aslam told the meeting that more than 227,000 people were vaccinated on Tuesday.
