The economic conditions of any country may be judged from the plight of its citizens. When people are happy and satisfied, it means that the government’s performance has been satisfactory. However, if they are unhappy and unsatisfied , it means that the government is not caring about their miseries and grievances. In our country, unemployment and excessive price hikes of essential commodities have made the lives of people miserable. Despite the tall claims made by government representatives, there has been a steep decline in living standards. It is apparent that only the elite have access to luxuries of life. On the other hand, the poor and the middle class are deprived of even the basic facilities. Powerful people don’t care about the poor and don’t bother to recognise their due rights. The country will not be able to grow unless we recognise and respect each other’s rights. We have to take steps to help and support the poor and the middle class.
