Because of illogical and fake posts about the Covid-19 vaccine that are doing rounds on social media, people are now showing reluctance to get vaccinated. Although the government is trying its best to convince more people, conspiracy theories have created a lot of confusion among people. The government will now have to face some delays in meeting its targets. To be fair, the authorities are trying to get people to receive their doses. The Punjab government, for example, recently announced that the SIM of unvaccinated people will be blocked. Also, the Sindh government earlier decided to withhold the salaries of unvaccinated government employees. According to news reports, around 300000 citizens did not turn up for the second dose of the vaccine.
People should consult official sites and news reports if they want to learn anything about the vaccine. All of us have to play our part in helping the government reach its target of vaccinating a large number of people. Our collective efforts will help us eradicate this deadly virus from the country.
