Inflation woes
The PTI-led government recently presented the Rs8.48 trillion federal budget which introduced no significant benefits for ordinary people. Ever since the PTI came to power, the country has been facing the problem of rising inflation. People’s income is not enough to cover monthly expenses. On this basis, a 10 percent increase in public sector salaries is insufficient as it does not even cover the price hike that the country faced during the last three years. The PTI-led government should review its decision and must announce an even higher increase in salaries. To address poverty, the government should take stringent measures and control rising inflation efficiently.
It should also ensure that the funds that have been set aside for productive projects are being utilised properly. It should carry out a quarterly audit to minimise the chances of corruption.
