Fire guts garments factory in North Karachi

A large fire broke out in a garments factory situated in North Karachi, within the remit of Gabol Town police station, on Monday causing losses worth millions of rupees.
According to the central fire station, the blaze erupted around 9am in the Ismail garments factory situated near North Karachi and it spread to other parts of the factory within minutes, reducing goods worth million of rupees to ashes.
It was said that four fire tenders rushed to the spot where the flames had risen and bellowed out thick smoke. The fire officials cited the reason of the fire to be a short circuit.
The area was cordoned
off by law-enforcement
authorities as the officials of K-Electric and Sui Southern Gas Limited rushed to the site and disconnected their services.
