Employee held for robbing jewellery shop
Police claimed to have solved a jewellery shop robbery case and arrested an employee involved in the incident.
According to police, the robbery took place on May 29, and the case was registered at the Eidgah police station by the shop owner against unidentified persons. In the FIR, the complainant stated that 190 grams of gold jewellery, 587 grams of silver jewellery and Rs175,000 in cash were looted from his shop.
During the interrogation, the police found out that one of the employees at the shop, Aqib, was behind the heist. The man admitted to his involvement in the robbery after he was arrested by the police and looted jewellery was recovered from his possession. The suspect told the police that he had given the looted cash to his friend, Danish, who had gone underground to escape arrest. Further investigations are under way.
