The Sindh government has announced that unvaccinated government employees won’t receive their salaries in case they refuse to get vaccinated on time. Following this notification, many organisations are now asking their employees to get vaccinated in a timely manner. There is no doubt that the Covid-19 vaccine will play a big role in keeping people protected against the virus. Citizens of our country, however, should be encouraged, and not forced, to get vaccinated.
Instead of announcing penalties for unvaccinated people, the government should announce incentives and other perks for vaccinated people. The government needs to address the widespread issue of vaccine hesitancy and must assure people that every vaccine is safe. A government-backed vaccination campaign will definitely convince a large number of people to get vaccinated.
