ISLAMABAD: An employee of Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) was admitted to Polyclinic Hospital in Islamabad after a suicide attempt due to Board’s failure to clear his medical dues pending for long and its failure to increase salaries as was decided by the federal government.

Mohammad Mehrban was admitted in a serious condition after he attempted suicide inside PSB Head Office in Islamabad when he was told that PSB Executive Committee deferred the final decision on medical allowance during a meeting on Wednesday. He was also communicated that PSB was reluctant to increase 25 percent salary that other employees of government and autonomous bodies have been getting for the last two months. Mehrban swallowed tablets meant to kill rates.
