PESHAWAR: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) has written to the police authorities to lodge a case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Fazal Elahi for creating law and order situation.
In a letter, a sub-divisional officer of Pesco said the MPA in question accompanied by around 20 people barged into a gridstation and forcibly switched off the commercial feeder in a bid to restore power supply to his constituency.
He said the commercial feeder tripped due to the extra load.
The SDO said in the letter that the MPA along with other people created law and order and interfered in the official work. The letter said that over 400 people also blocked roads to protest loadshedding that was being carried out because of power theft.
On Saturday, MPA Fazal Elahi as well as former nazims and councillors joined the protesters after the villagers blocked Ring Road.
The villagers from Dir Colony, Garhi Qamardin, Usmania Town, Hazarkhwani, Garhi Atta Mohammad, Bahader Killay and other places were blocked roads in protest against power cuts.
A heavy contingent of police arrived at the spot to clear the road.
