Commissioners, deputy commissioners meeting: KP CM wants implementation of good governance strategy ensured

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has said all the commissioners and deputy commissioners would have to ensure strict implementation of the good governance strategy to ensure improved service delivery to the masses.

He was chairing a meeting of commissioners and deputy commissioners of the province on Wednesday, said an official handout.

Chief Secretary Kazim Niaz, Senior Member Board of Revenue Syed Zafar Ali Shah and administrative secretaries of departments attended the meeting.

Mahmood Khan lauded the role of district administrations in implementing the Ramadan strategy of the KP government for providing essential commodities to people at comparatively cheaper rates and in dealing with coronavirus situation effectively. He urged them to show the same level of performance in implementing the good governance strategy.

While appreciating the performance of commissioner and deputy commissioner of Bannu against encroachments, the chief minister directed other district administrations to carry out such operations against encroachments in their respective districts.

Earlier, the meeting was given a detailed briefing about the progress made so far on implementation of government’s good governance strategy.

The meeting was told that KP was ahead of other provinces in resolving public grievances through the citizen portal, adding the ratio of public satisfaction with the redressal of complaints through the citizen portal was highest if compared with other provinces.

It was informed that KP was the first province countrywide to start holding “Khuli Katchehris”(public forums) for women, minorities and special persons.

The chief minister directed the deputy commissioners to keep their offices open for the public all times and to ensure that each and every citizen turning to them was satisfied.

He directed them to streamline the patwar system as well as other departments at lower level, adding deputy commissioners would be responsible for any wrongdoing in patwar khanas within their respective districts.

Similarly, he added that concerned commissioner would be responsible for any wrong practice in the office of tehsildars.
