Nation well aware of opposition leaders’ corruption: Shibli

ISLAMABAD: The PTI Senator Shibli Faraz Tuesday said the whole nation was well aware about the corruption of all the opposition leaders, who while in government, had ruined the economy by looting the national exchequer ruthlessly.“They were now indulging in attacking the national institutions, including judiciary and armed forces, as part of their nefarious designs,” he said talking to a private news channel.

Shibli said the institutions were playing a key role in the development, prosperity and uplift of the country. “Without the rule of law and supremacy of the Constitution, the country could not acquire political and economic stability,” he said.

He stressed the need of collective efforts to put the country on path of progress. He said the incumbent government was prioritising human resource development with the provision of quality education and health facilities to the people.

Meanwhile, addressing a photographic and painting exhibition arranged by Directorate of Electronic Media and Publication in connection with the Pakistan Day here, Shibli Faraz said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the country has been put on the path of an Islamic welfare state as envisioned by the Quaid-i-Azam and his companions.

The PTI leader expressed confidence that the nation under the honest, dedicated and dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan will touch the zenith of success and prosperity. He said that a society would have to be created where there was the rule of law and all the people irrespective of their status had equal economic opportunities.

Shibli regretted that certain elements were using tactics to protect their corruption. He paid tribute to the sacrifices rendered by the armed forces, police and other law enforcement agencies for the defence of the country and for ensuring peace.
