IIU, Germany discuss academic programmes

Islamabad: German academicians Dr. Ullrich Gunther of Senior Expert Services Germany and Dr Lars Bergmeyer of German Academic and Exchange Service (DAAD), Islamabad, called on International Islamic University (IIU) Rector Dr. Muhammad Masoon Yasinzai and discussed matters of mutual interest, including start of new academic programmes and development of scholarship linkages between IIU and German universities and other educational institutions.
On the occasion, Dr. Abdul Hameed, Director ORIC, Awais Ijaz Khan, Deputy Dean FMS, and Dr. Imran Khan, Chairperson CIRBS, IIU, were also present.
In the meeting, the visitors informed the IIU rector about German scholarship prog-rammes and the way forward for Pakistani educational institutions to develop relations with German institutions.
They said German universities and institutions are very much interested to initiate joint academic ventures with Pakistani universities.
The visitors said Pakistan is developing rapidly in the field of education and German educational institutions along companies are very much interested in starting a joint academics and research based programs with Pakistani universities.
The German experts said research supervisor would welcome Pakistani students for assistance in their research papers and other educational projects.
They said German universities has a broad range to offer scholarships, joint research activities Post Doc in different disciplines for Pakistani students.
Dr. Masoom said Islamic University is deeply interested in initiating particularly split degree programmes and joint research and scientific projects with German universities, including seminars, international conferences an d symposiums.
He said the IIU is unique and finest example of co-existence, brotherhood and provides peaceful learning environment to students on the campus.
